Onlywood Pizzeria Trattoria | 613 – 1/2 Duval Street, Key West
Since we moved to Miami almost 2 years ago, skipping down to Key West for the weekend has become one of our absolute favorite things to do. Key West is one of those places that makes you feel like you are in a whole other time and place. The atmosphere is happy, beachy, and slow. The buildings are all covered in vines and flowers, and the sunset is always a sight to be reckoned with. Tucked into a tiny alley on Duval Street (Key West’s version of Bourbon Street) you’ll find a small Italian restaurant called Onlywood. Dinner at Onlywood has become top of our list every time we head down for the weekend.
At this point, we’ve eaten 5-6 dinners there together and have tried over half the menu. The food is only part of how great this restaurant is tho, the secret garden out back is pure magic and the wine list is compiled of an incredibly selection of obscure and affordable wines to choose from. This is a place you can go eat a 5 star meal at a 2 star price! Here are a few of our favorites:
Bruschetta
Calamari Fritti
Keste Pizza
Salsiccia
Polpette di Manzo
Prosciutto di Parma e Bufala
Gnocchi alla Checca
Bucatini alla Carbonara
Torta del Giorno (yes, cake of the day)
Onlywood also has a great happy hour menu and amazing specials every day. I think we have ordered at least 1 special every time we’ve eaten there. No matter what kind of meal you’re after, you can find it here. We’ve gone in and out and we’ve also spend 2+ hours snacking and drinking wine. I would definitely suggest stopping by next time you find yourself down in paradise!
