Happy Friday guys! Like I mentioned in my last post, I want to try to write more here about things that are happening in and affecting my life. I love sharing things I come across with you all when they help or inspire me, and I’m always trying to find new ways to just get more product or be better at what I do. I recently came across a video on Facebook that really hit home for me. The speaker was a Navy General (or something along those lines) which didn’t initially spark my interest, but as I watched more of his speech it really started to make sense.
This is what he said (i’ll link the full video below) –
If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and will encourage you to do another task, and another, and another. And by the end of the day that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed. Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that the little things in life matter. If you can’t do the little things right, you’ll never be able to do the big things right. And if by chance you have a miserable day, you’ll come home to a bed that is made. That you made. And a made bed gives you encouragement that tomorrow ill be better. So if you want to change the world, start off by making your bed.
So good right? I absolutely love the concept of paying attention to the little things. As a small business owner I know how crucial it is for me to have everything scheduled out and planned in some sort of manageable fashion. I use a combo of my day planner as well as iphone reminders and google calendar to get everything done that I need to on a daily basis. And now more than ever I will make a conscious effort to feel good about checking off even the little things each day.
This one is short but sweet and I hope you all have a great weekend!
