Happy Monday guys! I hate to make you wish it was the weekend again when it’s only 9am on Monday morning, but I just couldn’t wait any longer to share this tasty Southern Style Buttermilk Fried Chicken dish with you. Normally I try to adapt recipes into my own but with one as old and classic as this, there’s really no point!
What You’ll Need:
2 cut-up fryer chickens
1 quart plus 1/4 cup buttermilk, divided
5 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons seasoned salt (like Lawry’s)
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup milk
canola or vegetable oil for frying
