Poppy Den at Tivoli Village

When I first moved to Las Vegas I was determined to find a dream high rise condo apartment in the new Downtown Las Vegas area. While this is still something I plan on doing one day, I ended up out in Summerlin and could not be happier with the location. Most people who visit Las Vegas have no idea this place exists, when it’s actually packed with great local restaurants and bars. One of my latest discoveries is Chef Angelo Sosa’s new neighborhood Asian Gastropub, Poppy Den! The decor is incredible and the menu is filled with all the sweet, sour, and spicy flavors you hope to find in asian inspired food. They also do a great happy hour and have an impressive selection of drinks!

Menu Highlights:

Sweet Pea Soup – hints of damame, basil, thyme, sage

Watermelon Salad with Goat Cheese* – candied wasabi, extra virgin olive oil, goat cheese crumbles

The Poppy Burger – sweet & sour pickles, fried egg

Crispy Pork Dumplings* – smokin hot dumplings with a garlic siracha vinaigrette

Homemade Fortune Cookie – think Christmas sugar cookie consistency covered in berries and filled with strawberry heavy cream

Needless to say, I can’t wait to go back and try more! You can also stop by for Sunday Brunch… I’ve been told it’s quite the treat. Looking for more information on neighborhood dining in Summerlin? Let me know! I am so excited to keep you guys updated with all these great new finds.
