Greek Baklava Bars


I love trying new types of food, especially when it comes to dessert. You’ll be hard pressed to find me turning away anything sweet, let alone something modernized like these Greek Baklava Bars! I’m a big fan of non traditional desserts for dinner parties etc. and this recipe is a great example of something that will totally wow your next set of guests.

What you’ll Need:

Nonstick cooking spray
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel
1 egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup chopped pistachio nuts
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
11.9 ounce packagebaked miniature phyllo dough shells
1/2cup honey
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/2tablespoons packed brown sugar
1teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Pistachio nuts
