Last weekend I had the extreme pleasure of stopping by Chocolate & SpiceChef Megan Romano’s exquisit neighborhood bakery out in Summerlin. With Yelp reviews like ‘A hidden treasure is the best way to describe this yummy bakery‘ and ‘In other words, MY NEW FAVORITE BAKERY‘ I was really excited to check it out! I didn’t know much about Megan before my visit, but now I’ll definitely say she’s a new source of inspiration for me. From her incredible eye for design, to her impressive resume, and her attention to detail; Chocolate & Spice just shot its way to the top of my favorite places in Las Vegas list! Here’s a look at our outstanding meal and as you can see the pictures really speak for themselves…

Our Menu:

Egg White Frittata Roasted Vegetable, Parmesan, Pesto w/ Blueberry Scones – comes with the most incredible balsamic you’ve ever tasted

Creme Brulee Frech Toast – this one doesn’t even need an explanation (order it!)

Black Forest Ham Panini + Vegetable Panini w/ Classic Tomato Soup (bread bites and parmesan)

Shrimp Fried Rice w/ vegetables, shrimp, bacon, scallion and egg (inspired by their sous chef)

Chicken Pot Pie an incredible puff pastry w/ veggies

Sorbet tropical, strawberry and coconut (so refreshing!)

Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Bar w/ French Toast Ice Cream

Menu Highlights: We started off with a gigantic cup of coffee, so I knew it was going to be a great experience. The creme brulee french toast was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The pot pie and fritatta were also incredible. Honestly, everything we tried was amazing and I would order each thing again. I also plan on heading back soon to try out the mac n’ cheese and more of the sweet treats!

The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. I can definitely see myself sitting in the awesome animal print chairs and sipping on a chai latte every Saturday morning. Other cool things about C&S – cooking classes, custom cake designs, holiday pies and drink boxes, and in house catering. I could go on for hours about what a great local treasure this place is, but I’ll leave it at this – with a big parking lot, and food that will have you coming back again and again, I think it’s safe to say Megan has struck gold in the Las Vegas community with Chocolate & Spice!

P.S. Stay tuned for a look at the bakery side of Chocolate & Spice, coming soon!
