Brunch at Three Sisters Farm

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to experience a real life Farm to Table breakfast. The brunch was hosted at Three Sisters Farm, down in Homestead. There are hardly words to describe what an incredible experience this was. My girlfriends and I were greeted close to the roadside veggie stand at the front of the farm, and then walked back through a jungle like field full of blooming trees and flowers. Out of nowhere a Swiss Family Robinson style treehouse appeared where we ended up walking up a flight of winding wooden stairs into a stunning outside dining room. There was a buffet setup, filled with amazing breakfast goodies made right on the farm. The girls and I wined and dined, enjoyed the breeze and being lucky enough to experience a meal like this out in the middle of mother nature.

Three Sisters Farm has a veggie stand open from 10-3 Saturday and Sunday, so if you are in the area I would absolutely recommend stopping by. The selection was filled with fruits (many of which I had never heard of, but ended up trying) as well as some of the regular goods like kale, lettuce and more! The farm family was welcoming, full of smiles, and I can’t wait to pay them another visit one of these weekends!

La Estancia Argentina, Miami

Last night I made my way out into a new area of town to attend an exciting media dinner with some girlfriends. We were graciously hosted by La Estancia Argentina, a new Argentine restaurant/cafe in the little known Health District of Miami! We were greeted with a gorgeous cheese plate and champaign (aka how all fantastic meals begin) then we were ushered into their nice open dining space to get started on dinner. We enjoyed several courses, a bunch of fantastic meats, an extra yummy round of dessert and several really great wines! La Estancia Argentina has two locations, this being the newest. Their original location is on Biscayne Blvd up in Aventura. If you find yourself near either location, I would definitely recommend stopping by!

Ironside Kitchen, Miami

On the way back from the beach last weekend, we decided to stop by Ironside Pizza for a late lunch. I wish we had planned better because we ended up wanting to stay for dinner as well! Ironside is in Little River, one of my favorite areas in Miami. It’s mellow, bright and airy, and has a solid menu. We tried out a pizza and porchetta, and have about 9 other things on our list. They don’t server beer and wine however so make sure to bring your own. I saw a few desserts pass by the table as well, so definitely put those on your radar if you stop by!

Family Style Cheese Plate

Craving the perfect cheese plate has become somewhat of a hobby for me. I really enjoy seeking out new ingredients and techniques to use when creating the spread. In September when James and I got married, we received an incredible new cutting board that I’ve just been waiting to use and last weekend I finally got the chance to test it out!

Ingredient List:

Homemade Dill Pickles
Pickled Greens
Toasted Baguette
Honey Crisp Apples
Prosciutto
Salami
Pepperoni
Cranberry Windsordale Cheese
Honey Goat Cheese
Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Pub Cheese
Garlic & Herb Chips

For the dill pickles and pickled greens, we used some awesome veggies from our CSA from Little River Cooperative. We picked the cucumbers and the greens, and they came out SO well! Also to compliment this spread, I’ve teamed up with Cultivar Wine again this fall to showcase some of their new selections. For this meal we shared a bottle of their Cabernet Franc, and it was probably the best I’ve tried so far. It really complimented everything in this spread and was the perfect blend of richness and spice.

Agency life during the holiday season is pretty slow. My suggestion to help pass the time? Lots of lunch dates. This week we decided to head over to Sugarcane, a local raw bar grill in Midtown. This area in midtown is really great, filled with rows and rows of restaurants and shopping. We sat outside which is always a plus and enjoyed some rosé, along with a few awesome small plates. I would definitely recommend starting off from their list of crudos. Every one I have tried is better than the next. They also have a killer daily flatbread special that never disappoints!
